Used Equipment

At DeHart Recycling Equipment, we maintain a large inventory of reconditioned and new recycling equipment. When reliability is essential to your processing needs, you will appreciate the quality of our reconditioned equipment.

If prior experience has made you wary of used equipment, it's time to experience a better rebuild.
Our rebuild process is among the most systematic and thorough in the industry.

Our Rebuild Process

We proudly incorporate the most systematic and thorough approach to reconditioning equipment for our customers.  The result is quality equipment that performs reliably for many years.

We openly welcome customers to visit our plant to see firsthand the quality of work we perform.  We realize this is not feasible for all our customers.  To better demonstrate the effort we put into our process, below find an example of a typical rebuild progression

A number of equipment re-builders can determine the operational condition of a machine while it is running. However, all will agree that the only way to truly evaluate the machine's condition is to strip it down. This is how we begin our rebuild process; by tearing down the machine.

Once the machine is stripped down to the frame, the structure is steam-cleaned then thoroughly inspected for cracks, wear and tolerances.

Structural components with notable wear are replaced. Wear surfaces are inspected and replaced as needed. Steel wear surfaces are replaced or upgraded to 400 hardness abrasion-resistant steel. Floors, walls, chambers areas, plates, shafts and others are checked to ensure they are straight, square and within tolerances.

As an added step, we check for structural enhancements for models manufactured in later years and make modifications and reinforcements to improve the machine.

Stripped components are cleaned and inspected.  Hydraulic components received new seals and o-rings.  Bearings, links and pins are inspected and replaced as needed.

During the re-assembly for the reconditioned components, each component is tested for proper fit, travel, tolerance and operability.

The hydraulic tank is drained and thoroughly cleaned, then new oil and filters are installed. (Oil is used for system testing and may be shipped with the baler).

After assembly is complete, the machinery is thoroughly tested. Linear surfaces are re-checked for proper fit and seating. Shear surfaces are then installed and adjusted prior to final testing.

A final quality control inspection is performed. Once completed, the machine is taped and painted. New safety and operator decals are attached.
